Dublin housing crisis: Garage sold – for a whopping €59,000

An example of just how crazy the housing crisis has become in Dublin can be seen at looking at accommodation website Daft.ie, where a small garage in the city sold for a monstrous €59,000 (over R$250,000)

The listing can be found here, and with over 25,000 views either people were very interested or curious at the price for a sellers garage.

The property itself compares to a small shed or garage in an average working class Dublin home. Located near the Booterstown part of South Dublin the description describes it as an “investment opportunity”.

Looking at the photos there doesn’t seem to be any electricity or plumbing, so whoever the buyer was can certainly expect to pay a substantial amount extra to make it habitable, bring the expected total to possibly €100,000. It measures 29 square meters and the description on the site reads: “Castle Estate Agents Powered by Keller Williams present this Investment opportunity close to the Booterstown train station.”

With a shed being sold for such a crazy price it gives an indication that the housing market in Dublin, or indeed across Ireland is showing no signs of slowing.
