Sweet Dublin’s Life – the Exhibition

Come and take part in a collective exhibition this January, featuring an array of talent based in Dublin. See press release below:

My name is Chiara Rucks, I am museological and I also worked as curator of exhibitions in Brazil. I am launching my first exhibition here in Dublin!

The event will be attended by several Brazilian artists who also live here in the Irish capital.

In the programming, we have Renato da Cunha (illustrator), Hélio Araújo (photographer), Sheila Flaherty (painting and art teacher) and Hugo Vasconcelos (photographer).

The place is super cozy and the theme of the exhibition marries a proposed place.

The artists will portray how the lives of Dublin in their point of view and art, there is no better place to talk about the theme than a Brazilian chocolatier, brigadeiros replica, remote or greeting the country.

The purpose is to make the work of artists and cultural professionals of Brazil more difficult here and to strengthen or involve professionals of all nationalities, especially the Irish. We are forming a group of professionals to work on future projects together.

The collective exhibition will be on January 6th, from 7am to 9pm, at the Bragadeiros chocolatery,

About the artists

Chiara Rucks 

Chiara was a student of the museum of the Geographic and Historical Institute of Bahia, worked as a researcher in projects of the Salvador City Museum and also passed by state agencies such as the IPAC – Historical and Artistic Institute of Bahia.

Chiara has been living in Dublin for a year and a half to find fine artists, photographers, and art and culture professionals to get started on cultural projects here. Our culture is rich and there is a market for it, the European consumes culture.

This idea creates a group and has gradually made contact through social networks with various professionals. That’s how I met some of the artists here in Dublin, others met going to exhibitions.

One day going through the chocolate shop we suggest that you make an exhibition because the space is charming and it stumbled. And so an idea of ​​this exhibition was born.

Hugo Vasconcelos

Freelance photographer, developer and disco collector.

Pernambucano Recifense, optimistic by decision and passionate about music and people.

My journey on the island started in 2015, when you take an English course for 3 months and decide to stay indefinitely. Photography is a way of finding historical stories and showing that we are more connected than we think.

I study photography at The Darkroom (darkroom.ie) and have tried more and more analog photography.

Renato da Cunha

Renato da Cunha has been a Dublin-based illustrator since 2015. His style is influenced by abstract expressionism, collage and pop art. The Artist has already traced his way in the Irish market. He recently held a solo exhibition at Bernard Shaw and has also illustrated the Dublin Flea Market poster.

Sheila flaherty

Entrepreneurial artist, owner of DaVinci Box Company, with a proven history of working in the craft industry. Skillful in Lesson Planning, Modeling, Web Design, Art History and Presentations. Strong business development professional with a PG HDip focused on Art and Education by NCAD – National College of Art and Design,

Hélio Araújo

Cearense, Training Advertiser and Passionate Photographer, living in Dublin since 2015. Use a photograph for inspiration and expression.
