Hollywood star Colin Farrell has shown his compassionate side by raising a staggering €774,000 for Debra Ireland, a charity supporting individuals with the rare genetic condition epidermolysis bullosa (EB), often referred to as “butterfly skin.”

To raise awareness and funds, Farrell pushed his friend Emma Fogarty, a 40-year-old EB sufferer, through the final four kilometers of the Dublin Marathon. Fogarty, one of Ireland’s oldest survivors of the condition, faces daily challenges due to her fragile skin.

Farrell’s inspiring act of solidarity has not only raised significant funds but has also shed light on the debilitating nature of EB. The actor emphasized Fogarty’s strength and resilience, stating, “She epitomizes bravery, she is what courage and pure determination are all about.”

The funds raised will be used to expand vital support services for individuals with EB, including home visits and specialized medical care. Debra Ireland aims to improve the quality of life for those affected by this often overlooked condition.
