Sky Mobile has officially launched in Ireland, and to celebrate, they’ve introduced a ‘Price for Life’ plan that includes unlimited calls, texts, and 5G data for just €15 per month—guaranteed for life. Additionally, Sky Mobile offers a 10GB plan starting at €10 per month for those who don’t require unlimited data.
With a variety of handsets from brands like Samsung, Xiaomi, and HMD, alongside a range of SIM-only options, Sky Mobile is set to disrupt the Irish mobile market with its commitment to fairness, flexibility, and transparency. Customers will benefit from several standout features, including:
- Fairer Contracts: When customers purchase a handset from Sky Mobile, their bill is split between the handset and airtime costs. Once the handset is paid off, the bill automatically reduces, ensuring customers don’t continue paying for a phone they’ve already purchased.
- Mix: Sky Mobile allows customers to adjust their data plans at any time. For example, users can lower their data plan in a particular month to save money, easily managed through the ‘My Sky’ app.
- Swap: Customers can upgrade to the latest handset a year before their contract ends, at no extra cost.
- Piggybank: Sky Mobile also offers perks like sharing unused data with family and friends, discounts on handsets, and rewards like return European flights or cinema tickets.
Sky Ireland CEO JD Buckley commented on the launch, stating, “The launch of Sky Mobile marks another key milestone for Sky in Ireland. Our €15 per month plan for unlimited calls, texts, and 5G data is a ‘price for life.’ We’ve built Sky Mobile to be fair, flexible, and transparent, and we believe Irish consumers deserve better mobile offerings, which Sky Mobile aims to deliver.”
Customers can choose between SIM-only plans or handset-inclusive plans, with the option to pay upfront or through a Credit Sale Agreement (CSA) over 24 or 36 months at 0% APR. Additionally, Sky Mobile provides worldwide roaming in over 150 countries, including Roam Like Home in 44 countries across the UK and EU.
Director of Sky Mobile, Aideen Chambers, emphasized the transparency of Sky Mobile’s billing, saying, “Many customers in the Irish market continue to overpay for their mobile services due to being charged for handsets they’ve already paid off. With Sky Mobile, once your handset is paid for, your bill automatically reduces, ensuring you only pay for airtime.”
Sky Mobile has launched in partnership with Vodafone, offering over 99% 4G coverage and 5G services across Ireland, with 4G Calling as standard in its plans. Sky Mobile is now available in Sky retail stores across Ireland and online at Sky Mobile Ireland.
In comparison, other budget mobile providers like Clear Mobile offer unlimited data for €12.99 (capped at 5Mbps), Tesco Mobile provides 5GB for €15, 48 has a 20GB plan for €10.99, and GoMo offers unlimited data for €14.99 (capped at 10Mbps). Sky Mobile’s €15 plan stands out with its ‘Price for Life’ guarantee and 5G access, making it a compelling option in this competitive landscape.
